London South Bank University (LSBU) is proud to announce that it has become Pearson’s latest awarding partner for Degrees powered by BTEC Higher Nationals.

The partnership enables Approved Pearson Centres worldwide to offer BTEC Higher National Diplomas (HNDs), equivalent to the first two years of a UK undergraduate honours degree. Students can then complete a final top-up year within their institution to earn a 3-year undergraduate honours degree from LSBU.

This integrated pathway is available across a range of disciplines, including Business, Engineering, and Computing, equipping students with globally recognised qualifications aligned with industry needs.
Recognised globally for social impact, LSBU was ranked 3rd in the world for its contribution to SDG 10 – Reducing Inequality in the THE Impact Rankings 2024. As part of the LSBU Group, the University supports over 31,000 learners worldwide through innovative education models, including around 17,500 at LSBU, 1,300 academy students, 6,300 in further education, and over 6,500 transnational students.

Stuart Bannerman, Associate Pro Vice-Chancellor at LSBU Global, said:
“This partnership exemplifies LSBU’s commitment to delivering high-quality, accessible education to students across the globe. By integrating BTEC Higher Nationals with our top-up degree programs, we’re empowering learners to achieve their academic and career ambitions through a seamless and internationally recognised pathway.”

Freya Thomas Monk, Managing Director of Vocational Qualifications and Training at Pearson added: “London South Bank University shares our vision to provide students with the skills to achieve their potential through highly relevant, industry-led education. We are delighted to be partnering with them to provide BTEC Higher National students with an accessible route to gaining an internationally recognised degree.”
