Montasar joined LSBU in 2023 as a Laboratory Technician for the School of Applied Sciences, managing the Sport and Exercise Science laboratories. In this role, he oversees lab operations, safety protocols, and resource planning, while delivering laboratory sessions, workshops, and seminars in physiology, biomechanics, sports rehabilitation and sports psychology. Montasar became an Academic Governor in 2024, contributing to institutional strategy, governance, and performance evaluation.

Montasar has worked on projects involving heat acclimation, hypoxic training, and national health awareness programs, including cancer and diabetes prevention campaigns. With a unique combination of expertise in sports science and software engineering, Montasar leverages his technical skills, rooted in his Software Engineering qualification, to enhance data analysis, research methods, and operational support within sports science. His proficiency in programming languages like Python and SQL allows him to integrate technology with his scientific knowledge to deliver impactful results.

Montasar holds an MSc in Sport and Health Sciences from the University of Exeter and a BSc in Sport and Exercise Science from LSBU. His academic and professional interests focus on extreme environmental physiology and understanding human performance in challenging conditions.
