Alumni and visiting users
Alumni
If you are a former LSBU student or staff member, you can get a free access card so you can continue to use LSBU libraries. This will also give you permission to borrow up to five books at a time.
Find further information about joining LSBU Alumni and how to get your Alumni Access card.
Once you have your access card, there are computers with internet access available for you to use in the Southwark Campus Library located in the LSBU Hub. The LSBU Visitor Wi-Fi network is also available for you to use with your own laptop. If you are a current member of an institution that provides Eduroam wireless internet access, you can use this network on the LSBU campus too. You can find out more information about services for LSBU alumni on our library webpage.
Students or staff members from other universities
You may be able to access LSBU’s libraries by joining the SCONUL Access Scheme.
Once you have applied online, you will receive confirmation from your home university. When you come to the library for the first time please bring your SCONUL approval email and your student ID. You will be asked to visit one of our help desks to take your photo for an LSBU ID card which will give you access to the library on your future visits.
Depending on your level and mode of study you may be able to borrow books or you may have reference only access. We will let you know when you join.
During vacation periods you can access LSBU libraries for reference only using your own student ID under the SCONUL Vacation Access scheme.
There is no access to our computers for SCONUL members, but the LSBU Visitor Wi-Fi network is available for you to use with your own laptop or if you are a member of an institution that provides Eduroam wireless internet access, you can use this network on the LSBU campus too.
