Why did you choose to study Marketing with Digital?

Being very indecisive about my preferred subjects, I combined two skills I wanted to apply the most, creativity and inspection. Marketing was my primary choice, as there are plenty of growth opportunities, competitive pay, and, most importantly, it never gets boring. You constantly need to adapt to new changes or updates in the industry. So, the dynamics of this sector are what attracted me.

Why did you decide upon LSBU?

Loved the course content when I was researching the universities. Compared to others, it was more well-rounded and practical. The location is amazing as well; it is always a pleasure to have a stroll in Covent Garden or sit near Westminster Bridge 10 minutes after the lectures end. Also, the employability support for undergraduates was promised to be a top priority, which turned out to be completely true and helpful.

Tell me about how the course staff have supported you.

My professors were a highlight in the university experience, and I’m very glad that some of them reappeared in other modules during the 2nd and 3rd years. Very helpful academic staff, and there wasn’t a moment when I felt I couldn’t address them regarding study materials or coursework support. Dr. Meda Burghelea and Dr. Mika Khanh are my superstars, and I appreciate the extra effort they put into teaching by providing additional articles, data, and field trips. I’m exceedingly grateful for the passion that they share with students.

What skills have you learnt or developed during your time at LSBU?

For me, it was doing proper research. The resources and extensive knowledge that were provided at university taught me to tackle the problems from different sides and understand the nature of the issue first. Thus, now, I never operate in the dark to launch a campaign or implement marketing tactics. I know how to fully investigate the market and scan through the business to find solutions.

Have you done a work placement or any work experience?

Initially I worked in customer service, but then I managed to secure a position in business development during my first year. Although the conditions were great, I didn’t interact with the marketing department that much, so I have committed to finding internships within my preferred speciality.

During the summer breaks, I worked as a Digital Marketing Intern in two different companies back in my home country. I had many, many side gigs and projects in between, so it helped me to stay professionally “fit” or use my various hobbies for pay (Jack of all trades, as they say).

I’m currently working as a digital marketing coordinator at a German skiwear company, and I consider myself lucky that throughout all these years I had plenty of opportunities to express myself as a proper specialist.

Where do you see yourself in the future? What are your goals?

Professionally, I see myself working in a digital marketing agency and understanding the industry from within before opening my own B2B firm. Alternatively, I envision the position of CMO; you never know (until you try it).

What advice would you give to people thinking about studying at LSBU?

- Be bold and active during the university years. Use all the student subscriptions, engage with your professors, expand your social circles, and explore all the facilities. You will pay quite a sum for studying and living in London; you might as well use everything that the opportunity offers.

The best thing about my experience at LSBU was….

Might be a common answer, but people. I’m grateful to have met lots of distinctive individuals that inspire me one way or another. In that regard, LSBU has provided many opportunities for the network.

P.S. Also, the LSBU Hub :)
