Most of our programmes are organised into semesters. Our academic year incorporates two semesters.Academic year calendar
2024/25 academic year
To help students plan for the next academic year we have now finalised and released the academic calendar for September 2024. The calendar is designed in conjunction with lots of other departments to enable us to continue to offer a supportive experience tailored around the needs of our students, our staff, and their courses.
Please find two versions of the academic calendar in the links below, one for students within the School of Nursing and Midwifery and Allied and Community Health and one for all other students. Additionally we have provided some key dates for the remainder of academic year 23/24, including January start students.

- The Christmas holiday lasts two weeks and runs from Monday 23 December 2024 to Friday 3 January 2025
- The New Year's Day Bank Holiday is Wednesday 1 January 2025
- The Easter holiday lasts three weeks and runs from Monday 14 April 2025 to Friday 2 May 2025
- The May Day holiday is on Monday 5 May 2025
- The Spring Bank Holiday is on Monday 26 May 2025
- The Summer Bank Holiday is on Monday 25 August 2025
