Learning resources
We deliver workshops, study materials and personal support to help you become an active and engaged learnerSkills for Success
Skills for Success is a team of specialist staff based in the department of Library, Skills, and Customer Services. We are here to support your development in academic practices, information and digital skills, maths and statistics, and language for academic purposes through our programme of regular workshops, drop-in sessions and appointments – which can be accessed both in-person across LSBU’s campuses and online.
These key, transferable skills help you to write assignments, find and assess authoritative and relevant research, effectively use applications like Microsoft Word and Excel and help you to improve your use of language, maths, and statistics, within an academic context.
We also create detailed learning guides and materials that you can access wherever you are and whenever you need them. Find out more on the Skills for Success webpages
Language support for international students
The English language you use in higher education can be very different from the English language you have learnt at school or college. To help you develop academic English proficiency, come to a workshop or drop-in session.

Libraries on our Southwark, Croydon, and Havering campuses provide LSBU students with access to a wide range of physical and e-resources including books and e-books, over 18,000 full-text journals and other specialist materials they will need to complete their studies - many of which can be accessed off-campus 24 hours a day.
A team of experienced, professional staff is on hand during opening hours to give expert support and provide training both in-person and online.
