Student support packages: Underrepresented student groups

As part of our university Access and Participation Plan, the Student Advice Team deliver student support packages, our financial and ongoing support commitment for underrepresented student groups.

Care Leaver Bursary

Estranged Students Bursary

Young Adult Carers Award

A minimum of £500 for each year of study (pro-rata for pt) for undergraduate students under 25 years old who provide unpaid care to a family member.

LSBU Group Progression Award

£1,000 in the first year of study (pro-rata for pt) for students from who attend South Bank Colleges in 23/24, apply to LSBU via UCAS, and successfully enrol on to an undergraduate programme.

Alongside the financial awards, the above support packages also include a point of contact, access to one-to-one advice and guidance, support groups and priority opportunities across the university for a student’s duration of studies at LSBU, see below for more information.

Eligible students will be contacted automatically in the second half of semester one, and bursaries usually awarded in two instalments. We ask students to verify with Student Finance, and at LSBU share information on their enrolment application and complete the Personal Development Plan so the Student Advice Team can easily contact them.
