In this performative lecture, Professor Marchevska will discuss the impact of collaboration and creative methods on the way we produce knowledge in art, culture and society. She was always curious about what drives research collaborations in arts and science and in this talk she will also explore what kind of knowledge production we need for the future, in a world shaped by AI and rapid technological developments.
Professor Marchevska will further discuss how she is using art, co-creation and lived experience methods in her research with migrants, refugees and asylum seekers. She will also present on diAerent streams of her research and how they come together to shape policy recommendations on cultural social prescribing.
Prof Elena Marchevska is a practitioner-researcher and Professor of Performance Studies at London South Bank University. She has extensive expertise in creative research and evaluation methodologies, with an interest in working with charities and public sector organisations. She is researching and writing extensively on the issues of belonging, displacement, the border and intergenerational trauma. Her artistic work explores borders and stories that emerge from living in transition. She also established the XR Studio Lab at London South Bank University, that serves audiences from low-engagement backgrounds, especially from low socio-economic background.
